Daily Treadmill Maintenance
Step 1 — Ensure that the power cord is not under the treadmill and away from the elevation screws. This will prevent the power cord from being pinched or bind up the elevation screws.
Step 2 — Remove excessive accumulation of dust, dirt, and other substances by using a clean soft cloth and a liquid non-abrasive cleaner, such as Fitness Equipment Polish. Wipe down the display board, handrails, shroud (motor cover), removable safety switch, and heart rate grips. Make sure sweat is removed from the treadmill everyday this is the primary cause of rust.
NOTE: DO NOT spray any liquid directly onto the display board or heart rate grips.
Step 3 —To increase the life span of the running belt, Clean under the running belt with a soft DRY cloth. To do this, slide the cloth between the running belt and the deck from one side of the frame to the other. The best way to accomplish this is to have a long towel put it under the belt, by the motor compartment and stand on the ends of the towel, run the treadmill (very slowly) for 2 or 3 cycles, pull it from the front of the treadmill to the rear of the treadmill. Repeat if the rag is dirty! I like to use white towels which make it easy to see the dirt, I use a clean towel each time…
Step 4 — Inspect the running belt to insure that it is not sliding over to one side of the treadmill. If this is occurring the belt will eventually move so far over that it will rub against the frame of the treadmill resulting in the fraying or complete destruction of the belt, damage to the plastic bodywork and most importantly exposes your members/
